Set deep in the wild heart of West Texas, Black Hills Ranch is a working cattle and hunting ranch that had been in the same family for more than 80 years. The ranch is located adjacent to several other large properties and has rugged but accessible hills with rock outcrops, as well as open flats and deep desert canyons. The variable terrain creates lots of interesting habitat for wildlife including raptors, songbirds, game birds like blue quail and morning dove, as well as larger desert species such as mule deer, javelina and a large herd of resident aoudads.

Presidio County, set on the U.S.-Mexico border adjacent to the Mexican state of Chihuahua, is punctuated by vast desert terrain and mountain peaks along with the distinctive, art-filled town of Marfa. It is also home to the border gateway of Ojinaga and the wild outdoor spaces of Big Bend Ranch State Park (and Big Bend National Park further east).
