Congratulations to Chandlar Graham with Larson & McGowin Properties LLC for his sale on November 30 of 2,627 acres in Alabama’s Baldwin County. The sold timberland tract comprises stands of mostly planted pine in a region of the Southeast that’s known for its productive forests for logging, paper pulp and other uses.

Alabama’s forestry industry is among the biggest in the country, with its 23 million acres of timberland covering over two-thirds of the state. Alabama has the third most timberland acreage in the 48 contiguous states, behind only Georgia and Oregon. It ranks second behind Georgia relative to its private timberland acreage.
Along with the existing commercial applications for its timber resources, the property offers potential for outdoor recreation including hunting and camping. The Gulf Coast town of Mobile, Alabama, lies about 40 miles south, along with the state’s string of Gulf shore beaches adjacent to the Florida Panhandle.
