Congratulations to Republic Ranches for their sale this week of Sycamore Creek Ranch, a 3,746-acre hunting and livestock ranch that covers portions of Kinney and Val Verde counties in Texas. The $3.5-million sale occurred on May 30, 2018, and was recorded through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program.

Set in southwest Texas, Sycamore Creek Ranch offers a diverse mix of brush and native rangelands, plus numerous drainages, waterholes and over two miles of both sides of its namesake Sycamore Creek. This riparian habitat nurtures significant stands of live oaks, sycamores and other abundant hardwood cover for local wildlife. Species that can be found here include whitetail and axis deer (established herds providing year-round hunting), wild turkey, dove, quail, feral hogs and songbirds.
Along with offering excellent wildlife habitat, the ranch’s various creek drainages and topographic relief provide expansive views of the property and Hill Country landscapes to the north.
Sycamore Creek Ranch is located along Highway 90, about 16 miles west of Brackettville and to the east of Del Rio, Texas, which offers groceries, shopping, ranch supplies, commercial air service and medical facilities. Brackettville dates back to the mid-1800s and is home to historic Fort Clark and the popular Las Moras Springs. Lake Amistad, with its world-class fishing and boating, is less than 30 minutes from the ranch.
