Built in the 1930s as a summer-vacation destination deep in the wooded hills of western North Carolina, Glen Choga Lodge is a unique 35-room retreat listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Having closed as a commercial venture in 1941 following the U.S. entry into World War II, Glen Choga Lodge was later converted into a private residence with all the hallmarks of a prestigious Gilded Age-era estate.

Set near the shores of Lake Nantahala, the two-story lodge was hand-built from chestnut logs harvested from the land surrounding the lodge. In recent years, careful steps have been taken to persevere its original condition with limited modernization. The surrounding lands include a tranquil pond, rushing creek with waterfalls and nicely landscaped grounds with plenty of opportunity for additional expansion and improvements. The location, not to mention the historic, timeless nature of the log home itself, would make for an ideal retreat venue.
