Oru Kayak

Meet Oru Kayak. A box, or as Anton Willis (founder/architect/product designer) sees it, a voyaging sea vessel waiting for its captain to take it out on its next big odyssey. This is a kayak that fits. Because the more places you can fit your kayak, the more places you can take your kayak. Oru Kayaks can go just about anywhere—all thanks to origami. Going from box to boat takes just minutes and on the water they’re lightweight, sturdy and durable. While other people might just see a box, Oru Kayak knows you imagine a destination. And while other people might just see a river or a lake or an ocean, they know you see a playground just waiting to be explored. OruKayak.com

Fresh Off The Grid

Fresh Off The Grid is a camp cooking and outdoor lifestyle blog founded by Megan McDuffie and Michael Van Vliet in 2015 as a cooking resource for outdoor enthusiasts. At the time, the couple were preparing to embark on a year-long road trip, but found themselves struggling to reconcile their love for cooking with a life outdoors. Most home recipes were too complicated to be made at a campsite, while most camping recipes were too unhealthy to eat for anything more than a few days. So they started documenting their attempts to make healthy, nutritious meals under the constraints of a camping environment. Fresh Off the Grid now features an assortment of easy-to-prepare recipes, helpful how-to guides, a curated gear shop and an abundance of outdoor inspiration. Whether you’re a car camper, backpacker, vanlifer, boater or cabin dweller, Fresh Off the Grid is your place for discovering a better way to eat in the great outdoors. FreshOffTheGrid.com

Wild Horses of Cumberland Island by Anouk Masson Krantz

The Wild Horses of Cumberland Island captures the dramatic scenery and breathtaking wildlife of Cumberland Island (site of the wedding of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette), a treasured coastal preserve along Georgia’s Atlantic coastline. The defining characteristic of most horses in the world is their confinement, with limitations and restraints constantly forced upon them. See these wild horses firsthand, living unbridled and free in nature. Photographed by Anouk Masson Krantz, The Wild Horses of Cumberland Island is the culmination of over 10 years and dozens of visits. Embracing the island’s raw elements in all of its seasons, Krantz has created a body of work that delivers to the viewer the profound and varied emotions that the island so powerfully inspires. The book, published by The Images Publishing Group, will be available on November 30, 2017, and it’s available for pre-order. AnoukKrantz.com/book

Natural Wine by Isabelle Legeron

Winemaking has become ever-more unnatural, from the use of blanket crop-spraying in vineyards, to the overuse of sulfites and additives in the cellar, but luckily there is another way, as Master of Wine Isabelle Legeron explains. Isabelle, who campaigns for natural wine around the world and runs the hugely successful RAW wine fairs in New York, London and Berlin, reveals why the finest, most authentic wines are those made naturally. While currently not regulated by an official definition, natural wines are made from sustainably farmed, organic (or biodynamic) grapes, with nothing removed or added during winemaking, bar at most a dash of sulfites. It is good old-fashioned grape juice fermented into wine—just as nature intended. If you care about what’s in your glass, want to explore unique flavors or are keen to support small-scale producers, then you need to know more about natural wine, and where to find it. The second edition of this consumer guide to natural wine has been fully updated and explains the processes involved, introduces you to some of the growers and suggests over 140 of the best wines for you to try. IsabelleLegeron.com

Nectar Sunglasses

Save the bees, save the world. These friendly insects have pollinated our planet for 20 million years and their population is rapidly diminishing. In 1975, 4 million bee hives were estimated to be living in the United States. Today, only 2 million bee hives exist in the U.S. and, in 2015 alone, a whopping 42 percent of U.S. bee colonies have perished. Nectar has partnered with The Bee Cause, which is an organization dedicated to educating students and repopulating bee colonies around the world. Together, their goal is to produce 1,000 observational bee hives inside schools. These viewing hives help educate children on the importance of bees and allow them to safely investigate thriving bee communities. Nectar is donating a portion of every order to The Bee Cause! These donations go directly towards purchasing bees for a new hive location. When you purchase your new Nectar shades, you’ll know that you are also saving these amazing creatures! NectarSunglasses.com
