Set atop a largely level landscape of native brush, the acreage offers habitat for wildlife including whitetail deer, turkey, quail, dove, javelina, hogs and various small varmints. A few rolling hills provide long-distance views, while both Salomoneo Creek and Arroyo Blanco are large drainages that traverse through the property and hold water during wet times. The sandy mott country terrain is prime for quail hunting.
Arroyo Blanco Ranch is only several miles east of the Rio Grande and U.S.-Mexico line. The ranch’s rolling, brush-covered terrain is characteristic of much of 1,058-square-mile Zapata County, which has an economy that’s dependent on natural gas, oil and ranching. Falcon Reservoir, covering the southern tip of the county, is not only an important water source for communities on both sides of the border but also a popular local fishing spot for species including bass, catfish and alligator gar.
