Located in the Sandhills region of north-central Nebraska, the agricultural acreage offers a mix of cropland and grazing pastures that are well fenced and watered. The nearby town of Ainsworth is the county seat, with a mix of local services as well as amenities and attractions for visitors. Anglers head to Pine Creek near Lone Pine to cast for trout, while hunters get their shot at deer, turkey, duck, grouse and pheasant on public and private hunting lands in the area.
Fifteen miles north of Ainsworth, the 76-mile Niobrara National Scenic River threads its way through an ancient landscape of bluffs, sandhill prairies and mild rapids. Various local outfitters offer tubing and float trips, as well as guided hunting and fishing excursions.
