Congratulations to Richard Dawson of Nebraska Land & Cattle Agency for his sale on January 17, 2018, of 2,297 acres in the western region of the Nebraska Sandhills. The sale of Hardin Ranch was the largest land sale in the previous seven days based on data recorded through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program.

The working cattle ranch, located close to the heart of the vast Ogallala Aquifer, has an annual carrying capacity of 125 cows. Average hay production is about 350 tons based on normal climatic conditions. It’s located about 32 miles east of Alliance and just two miles west of the historical Old West town Ellsworth. Sheridan County is a rural area of grasslands dotted with lakes, which is deep in one of the most productive agricultural regions of the country.
