The eastern edge of the property is framed by the looping Tallapoosa River, which flows down from the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains in Georgia and through Alabama on its way to join the Alabama River. There are four miles of river frontage, offering excellent potential for riverfront development. Other suggested future uses include as a conservation easement.
An area of meandering rivers like the Tallapoosa and Coosa, as well as large recreational reservoirs including Jordan Lake and Lake Martin, Elmore County offers a mix of small farms and bedroom communities serving the Montgomery metropolitan region.
