Why Your Video Can’t Be Embedded on Your Listing (and How to Fix It)

1. Why This Happens

  • Video platforms like YouTube and Vimeo allow the video owner to control whether their content can appear on other websites. This is managed through settings like “Allow embedding” or “Where can this be embedded?”.
  • If embedding is turned off or restricted, the video will still play on YouTube or Vimeo—but it cannot display inside your listing page. When that happens, Marketing Hub has to reject the video.

2. What You Can Do

  • If you own the channel/account:
    • Edit the video’s settings to enable embedding, then re-add the URL in Marketing Hub.
  • If someone else owns the account (photographer, media company, brokerage marketing team):
    • Share this article or these instructions with them so they can turn on embedding.

3. How to Fix It on YouTube

(Interface may change over time, but these steps are current as of now.)

  • Sign in to YouTube and open YouTube Studio.
  • In Content, select the video, scroll to License & distribution, and check Allow embedding.
  • Click Save.

Optional tip:

Set the video to Public or Unlisted. Private videos with restricted embedding may still fail to display on other sites.

4. How to Fix It on Vimeo

  • Sign in to Vimeo and open the video’s Settings.
  • Go to Privacy or Embed settings.
  • Under “Where can this be embedded?” (or Embed privacy), choose Anywhere or add your website’s domain (e.g., land.com).
  • Save your changes.

5. If It Still Doesn’t Work

Try these quick checks:

  • Make sure the URL is a standard watch link—not a playlist, Shorts-only link, or internal sharing link.
  • Test with another video from the same channel that you know allows embedding. If that works, the original video’s privacy or embedding settings are the issue.
