With 97 percent of land in Texas privately owned, most hunting by the estimated 1.1 million Texas hunters takes place on the myriad private ranches and hunting land throughout the state. Texas offers numerous hunting outfitters who will take hunters out on guided hunts for bird and big-game species, as well as exotics, plus many hunting clubs who pay to lease hunting rights on private lands in the state. Public hunting lands total 900,000 acres on over 200 wildlife management areas and preserves throughout Texas, although demand can be high for a limited number of permits for select species and seasons during the year. Given the popularity of hunting in Texas and the diversity of terrain and property on which to hunt, here are some of our favorite Texas hunting land and ranches for sale on Lands of America (scroll to the bottom for a map of all property locations).
