Congratulations to Brent Story of Atlanta-based Avalon Partners for his sale this week of Potts Mountain at Big Canoe. The 1,356-acre sale in the mountains of North Georgia realizes a residential development opportunity on the doorstep of an existing private residential community centered around three lakes at Big Canoe. This sale occurred in November 29, 2017, and was reported through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program.

Big Canoe is a private gated community in the hills to the north of Atlanta, close to the point where the Appalachian Mountains give rise to Great Smoky Mountains and the Appalachian Trail’s 2,000-mile-long march north to the wilds of Maine. Big Canoe also offers a number of rental properties for events and vacationers wanting to enjoy the scenery and fresh mountain air.

The Potts Mountain site sold for $7 million, also making it the most expensive land sale recorded in the past seven days.
