With more than fifteen years of experience in timberland sales at LandVest, Dan brings a comprehensive and results-driven approach to marketing and transacting forestland assets. His expertise spans the full spectrum of the market—from recreational woodlots to large-scale institutional timberland investments—across both traditional listings and competitive bid sale processes.
Dan has successfully managed a wide range of projects involving diverse natural resource values including timber, maple sugaring, carbon credits, conservation easements, cell tower leases, recreational camp leasing, subsurface OGM rights, and wetland mitigation assets. His ability to identify, evaluate, and clearly articulate these value components allows clients to fully realize the potential of their land.
While Dan’s primary focus is Vermont and the northern Adirondack region of New York, his experience extends throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, from Maine to Maryland. He has also contributed to complex, large-scale projects across the Lake States, Appalachia, and beyond, and more recently has been involved in mitigation banking and environmental credit transactions in markets including Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, California, and Oregon.
Dan holds a joint Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School and Master of Forestry degree from Yale School of Forestry, combining legal insight with technical forestry expertise to guide clients through complex transactions with confidence. He is a licensed real estate professional in Vermont, New York, Maine, and Pennsylvania.
Known for his thorough, boots-on-the-ground approach, Dan is deeply committed to understanding each property at a fundamental level. His hands-on due diligence and market knowledge enable him to position properties effectively and deliver strong outcomes for both buyers and sellers.
